A BJP delegation led by senior leader Vijender Gupta met Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on Wednesday to complain against the alleged Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violation by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The delegation which included MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Subhash Arya, Subhash Sachdeva, and Rajiv Babbar also alleged that the AAP is creating a rift among different communities and hurting religious sentiments. They also submitted a memorandum to the CEC and demanded strong action against the AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders.

"We also submitted more than a dozen complaints and three CDs against call centres and a copy of FIR against the Aam Aadmi Party for hurting religious sentiments," the statement said.

"The Election Commission patiently heard the BJP delegation and assured necessary action," said Gupta.

The delegation also claimed the AAP has used the picture of cow and calf at the door of a house to hurt religious sentiments while being well aware of the incidents that occurred in recent past in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and other parts of the country which were directly connected to cow slaughter.

A few days ago, an AAP delegation headed by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had complained against BJP to the EC. It had accused the Delhi Police of harassing the owner and workers of the call centres hired by the party 'to help voters.'

Lok Sabha elections for all the seven seats in Delhi are scheduled to be conducted in a single phase on May 12. The counting of the votes will take place on May 23.
