The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused the opposition of hampering proceedings in parliament and demanded an apology from the latter for the ruckus created over demonetisation.
"The opposition is responsible for the deadlock that has been created in parliament. They are the ones who demanded a debate in the name of demonetisation, but have always tried to escape from talks," BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain told ANI.
Hussain further said that the TMC and Congress should apologies to parliament and the president for creating a ruckus in its proceedings and added that this kind of behaviour does not favour anyone.
Parliament was adjourned till Monday after the opposition described the government as anti-farmer and anti-poor government.
The opposition raised slogans such as "Kisan Virodhi, Gareeb Virodhi, Yeh Sarkar Nahi Chalegi" (We will not accept this government which is anti-farmer and anti-poor)
Communist Party of India (Marxist), General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said the demonetisation are ruining the lives of farmers.
President Pranab Mukherjee had on Thursday said, "For God's sake, do your job. You are meant to transact business in Parliament," he said.
