The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused the opposition of hampering proceedings in parliament and demanded an apology from the latter for the ruckus created over demonetisation.

"The opposition is responsible for the deadlock that has been created in parliament. They are the ones who demanded a debate in the name of demonetisation, but have always tried to escape from talks," BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain told ANI.

Hussain further said that the TMC and Congress should apologies to parliament and the president for creating a ruckus in its proceedings and added that this kind of behaviour does not favour anyone.

Parliament was adjourned till Monday after the opposition described the government as anti-farmer and anti-poor government.
