BJP making same old promises in UP as in Bihar: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday, fired fresh salvos at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that the promised good days have not been delivered by the ruling dispensation, and that the days have become worse.

She also took a jibe at the BJP for their loss in the Bihar and Delhi Assembly polls, and said that they would face the same in the Uttar Pradesh elections next year.

"The way the Bharatiya Janata Party made the same old promises in Delhi and Bihar, they are making the same promises in Uttar Pradesh. BJP and company are going to face the same loss in UP as well," she said.

She further criticized the Central Government for not doing enough on the 125th anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar, and said that the government should have taken constructive steps for the weaker sections of society, instead of launching schemes.

Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for the 2017 Assembly Elections. The Bahujan Samaj Party has declared that it would contest the elections alone, and so has the Bharatiya Janata Party.
