Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shrikant Sharma on Saturday said the main purpose of the party's National Council meeting in Kozhikode,Kerala,is to observe the centenary celebrations of Pandit Deen Dayal grandly.
"It was decided at Allahabad that we will hold our National Council Meeting in Calicut. The main issue will be Pandit Deen Dayal's centenary year. We are celebrating that," he said.
Sharma told media how the BJP cadres are looking forward to inculcating Deen Dayal's ideas.
"We are also taking forward his ideas. His idea was to upgrade the standard of the last man standing in the row... The programme to develop the poor has reached the grassroot level. We are preparing a roadmap to that effect in the meeting."
"The Prime Minister will address a public rally today and conclude the National Council tomorrow," Sharma added.

On the third day of the BJP national council meeting, PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the birth centenary celebrations of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who was elected as the Jan Sangh president in Kozhikode in 1967.
Almost 1,700 BJP leaders will attend the meeting, including Union ministers, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, MPs, MLAs, national leaders and state unit leaders.
