The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday took potshots at West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee for her decision to back the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and reminded her of not doing enough to save her own ship from sinking.
"Mamata Banerjee tweets today in support of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) calling the people of Delhi to support Aam Aadmi Party. The own ship of Trinamool Congress is sinking but Mamata Banerjee rather than trying to save own ship is busy steering the ship of Aam Aadmi Party," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.
The BJP leader further criticised Banerjee terming her and Arvind Kejriwal as scamstars.
"Any ways both are scamstars and both are supporting each other.... We know as to how both Mamata Banerjee and Kejriwal are dharna specialists. Naturally, Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal can only destroy a state, they cannot ever administer a state," he said.
Earlier today Mamata Banerjee urged the people of the national capital to vote for Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the assembly elections.
"Delhi elections on 7. My request to all of you in Delhi to please vote for AAP. For the greater need of the country and development in Delhi," she tweeted.
Meanwhile, the campaigning for assembly polls will end this evening. In the last leg of campaigning, leaders from all political parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters.
The BJP, Congress and AAP leaders are holding public meetings and road shows in various constituencies to bring the voters in their fold.
The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10.
