BJP's association with D.P Yadav exposes its preference: Congress

Claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has the most number of Members of Parliament (MP) facing criminal charges, Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress leader Anand Sharma on Wednesday pointed out that the BJP's association with D.P Yadav only reveals what the party stands for and its preferences.

"It is for the BJP to explain the company they keep, and it is for the people to judge for what they are, what they prefer, what they do, they are serious questions about BJP's position," he said here.

"When it comes to associating with individuals facing serious criminal charges, they are ministers in the union government who have criminal charges against them, the largest number of Members of Parliament (MP), unfortunately, who have criminal cases, happen to be in the BJP," he added.

D.P Yadav recently shared centre stage with BJP chief Amit Shah in a couple of rallies in Haryana where the latter was campaigning for party candidates ahead of the October 15 assembly polls.

He is the father of Vikas Yadav, who, along with his cousins Vishal and Sukhdev, have been held guilty for the murder of Nitish Katara because he was involved in an alleged relationship with their sister Bharti Yadav.

Nitish Katara was killed on the night of February 17, 2002 after being abducted from a marriage party in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad area.
