Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar on Friday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would be in power at the Centre for next 20 years.
"The Modi government has arrived and will be in power for the next 10-20 years. We are not going anywhere. The party felicitated party president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the party to a new height because today the BJP has become the biggest party in the world with 9.25 crore members," Javadekar said.
"And, therefore, they were felicitated. Lakhs of workers have worked for that. Our president Amit Shah today mainly put out issues, but he was very happy that the first meeting of national executive after the formation of the government under Narendra Modi was held on 9th August in New Delhi and that time we celebrated that the first time in India after Independence, a non-Congress party has acquired full majority," he added.
Javadekar, who was briefing the media about the discussions which took place in the national executive meeting, further said that the BJP would launch two campaigns to expand its base in the country.
"We are launching two campaigns. One is 'Maha Samparka Abhiyan'. In this mass contact programme, we will go door to door to talk and discuss with each member because today the membership is through contact," he added.
He announced that the party would hold second programme in the next few months about the training of new members
"BJP is the only true-democratic party where internal democracy is intact," he added.
