BJP win in Haryana reflects wave of change in country: Swamy

Asserting that there is no hope for the Congress and dynastic politics, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday said his party's win in the Haryana state assembly polls has made it evident that there is a wave of change in the country.

"I consider Haryana's victory as a sign that there is a wave of change in the nation. The Congress is living in denial mode that a family can rule the country. Today, even if we fight in Tamil Nadu, we might win in the same manner. There is no hope for the Congress and dynastic politics," said Swamy.

The BJP yesterday got clear majority in Haryana winning 47 of the 90 assembly seats. The Congress has been relegated to the third position with 15 seats.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda yesterday took responsibility for the Congress' defeat in the state and submitted his resignation to the Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki.

The Governor has urged Hooda to continue till the new chief minister takes oath.

In Maharashtra, the BJP emerged as the single largest party winning 122 out of 288 seats though it fell short of winning an outright majority.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday thanked the people of Haryana and Maharashtra for enabling the BJP to emerge victorious in both states, calling the results to be 'historic'.

BJP chief Amit Shah too hailed the BJP's unprecedented electoral performance and said the results reflect that the people have accepted Prime Minister Modi as their 'undisputed' leader.

The BJP central observers will visit Mumbai and Chandigarh today to decide the names of legislature party leaders in Maharashtra and Haryana.
