Suspected Bodo militants triggered a bomb blast on Wednesday in Bongaigaon, Assam.
Police has confirmed that there were no casualties and no major damage to property from the incident which took place near the Mayapuri cinema hall around noon today. .
Reports suggest that the preliminary investigation indicates that a crude bomb, which was attached to a cycle parked in the area, triggered off the incident.
Police said the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) might have been behind the blast. The group is believed to have a substantial presence in Bongaigaon and in the four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Areas Districts (BTAD) -- Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri.
