The Bangladesh National Party (BNP) chief Khaleda Zia will be returning to the country soon after completing her medical treatment in London.
Many Bangladesh Awami League leaders had earlier speculated that Khaleda who is facing charges in several cases, might not return to Bangladesh from the UK in fear of legal action against her.
Claiming the allegations to be baseless, BNP's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir said that Khaleda will be returning to Bangladesh soon but the date and time would be according to her doctors' advice, The Daily Star reported
In several occasions, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had accused the BNP chief for plotting the killings of two foreign nationals with Jamaat-e-Islami, to destabilize the country.
The BNP has however called the accusation false and a 'smear campaign against the party.'
It has become an unfortunate culture to blame opposition for every incident, he added.
