Jamaican sprinting star Usain Bolt has expressed his desire to compete at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow to add a Commonwealth medal to his horde of six Olympic golds and eight World Championship wins.
Widely regarded as the best sprinter of all time, Bolt was supposed to compete in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006, although he had to withdraw from the event with a hamstring injury.
According to the Mirror, Bolt needs the buzz of a major event to compete at with no World Championships or Olympics next year, with the athlete saying that he has told his coach that he would love to go to the 2014 Commonwealth Games as he has not taken part in the event before.
However, Bolt said that he is not completely sure if his coach would allow him to participate in the event, adding that he will have to discuss the matter further with his coach.
The report mentioned that ticket sales for the event, already strong, will shoot through the roof if Bolt, who first captured the world's attention when he won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m in Beijing, competes in it.
