Bolt 'requests' thieves to return his 20,000 pounds-worth 'signed spikes'

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has reportedly requested the thieves, who stole his signed pair of running shoes from a commercial premises on an industrial estate, to return the 20,000 pound-prized spikes.

Bolt told his 3.3 million Twitter followers that he knows that they love him, but 'please' why did they have to go stealing his signed spikes in Croydon, England and added that he knows they are going to return the shoes.

According to the Mirror, the police has launched an investigation to track down the orange Puma shoes, which had been in display frame alongside a photo of the six-time Olympic gold medallist after he set a new world record in 2009.

Burglars reportedly stole the running shoes from a commercial premise on an industrial estate in Gloucester Road, Croydon, in south London, bewteen April 26 and April 28.

Bolt tweeted about the incident saying that it is 'breaking news' as all the thieves had to do was just ask him for one and there had been no need to go stealing things which belong to people.

The sprinter, who won three gold medals at both the Beijing and London Olympics, later posted a picture of himself signing a new pair of hi-tech green and blue trainers with the promise that they are now on their way to London to replace the stolen shoes, the report added.
