'Boring' Murray, Federer and pals need to start talking 'trash' in interviews, says tennis player

The 'Big Four' of the tennis world- Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, have been branded as 'boring' by a Latvian tennis player, who wants them to start using insults and abuses to liven up their interviews.

World No.40 Ernests Gulbis, who was once jailed for soliciting a Swedish prostitute, has said that the tennis of today lacks character, adding that although he respects the tennis stars, they are boring and give 'c**p' interviews, the Mirror reports.

Stating that he has stopped watching tennis interviews on YouTube as they are a 'joke', Gulbis said that he does not want to listen to a player who puts on a nice appearance during interviews despite personally viewing each of his opponents as 'a**holes'.

Gulbis, the son of a millionaire banker, blamed Federer for starting this 'boring' fashion, saying that the Swiss star has a superb image of the perfect gentleman, which, however, he does not want other young players to emulate, and instead wants them to trash talk like boxers.

According to Gulbis, the interviews should be more like boxing, where opponents face each other at the weigh-in by bringing war, blood, emotion, which the fans love, adding that such things are missing in tennis, where, he said, everything is clean and white with polite handshakes and some nice shots.

Gulbis, who has admitted to taking marijuana, further said that tennis fans also want to see broken racquets and hear outbursts on the court.

Meanwhile, Murray has said that it is difficult to open up and let loose his emotions in press conferences or interviews, adding that although he tries to give honest answers, they tend to turn into boring answers for his fear of creating any scandals.
