A Brazilian math whizz has claimed that it is perfectly possible to predict the results of the lottery.

Renato Gianella argues that there is a way of predicting which numbers are more likely to appear by following the patterns of the Law of Large Numbers, the Daily Star reported.

His study is called The Geometry of Chance: Lotto Numbers Follow a Predicted Pattern and argues that not all combinations of numbers have the same odds of occurring.

As a result Gianella claims that you can predict the patterns of numbers which have the best chance of being drawn.

He said that lottery should no longer be seen as a form of gambling but a true representation of the probabilistic theory and the Law of Large Numbers.
