British parliamentary aide to testify about his sexual liaison with Dewani before court

A report has revealed that a British parliamentary aide is expected to appear in court at Shrien Dewani's murder trial to testify that he had a series of sexual encounters with the millionaire before his marriage to Anni Hindocha.

The man, who is in his mid-50s, claimed that the meetings took place at The Hoist, a gay club, in Vauxhall, south London, between 2003 and 2008. Dewani's public denials that he was gay prompted the man to give a statement to Scotland Yard in late December 2010, reported The Guardian.

The unnamed parliamentary aide, who has worked for leading politicians in Westminster, will be called to the witness stand next week, the report said.

Dewani has been accused of orchestrating the murder of his wife during their honeymoon in Cape Town by hiring three South Africans.

He has denied the charges claiming that the two were hijacked at gunpoint as they drove through Gugulethu in a taxi.

He escaped unharmed but his wife's body was found in the abandoned car the next day.

The three South Africans involved in the murder have been tried and convicted and are serving jail sentences between 18 years and life.
