Broad hails 'amazing' six-wicket spell in 'special era' Ashes win against Oz in Durham

England bowler Stuart Broad has said that he is 'amazed' at his six-wicket scalps of the touring Australians at the Ashes Test in Durham, which led his team to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.

According to the Mirror, Broad's unbelievable spell of 6-20, which gave him match figures of 11-121, ripped Australia's batting line-up to shreds ands sent back half a dozen Australians from the field within 43 deliveries as England went into a 74-run winning cakewalk at Chester-le-Street.

Hailing an 'amazing' spell of bowling, an exultant Broad, who received the Man of the Match award for his heroics, said that it is a special era to play in given that they thrive specially in Ashes battles, although he added that they turn up each day without knowing what is going to happen.

His co-bowler Tim Bresnan had triggered an Australian collapse by dismissing David Warner, and Broad said that both he and Bresnan were full of adrenaline as they took the wickets, adding that they both created chances by agreeing to pressurise the rival batsmen.

According to Broad, he wanted to be very aggressive, adding that when they had been lacking some intensity during the middle period, captain Alastair Cook had urged him to 'spice things up a little bit'.

Thanking the crowd for backing them, Broad also said that the team lifted with the crowd's spirits, adding that once they got the ball reversing and moving sideways enough, they were able to execute their plans properly.

Broad further said that his team has players who has the hunger to achieve more and become the leading Ashes winners in history.
