Brooke Shields' mom wanted her to remain a virgin for 'as long as possible'

Brooke Shields has revealed that her mother wanted her to remain a virgin for as long as possible and even kept a track of it herself.

In her new memoir, 'There Was A Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me', the 49-year-old actress, who dated several Hollywood stars including Liam Neeson and John Travolta, said that she dated Dean Cain for two years after meeting at college, but was "terrified of physical contact with boys" because of her mother, Teri Shields, who died in 2012, the Mirror reported.

She said that after she lost her virginity at the age of 22 to her then boyfriend Cain, she was afraid she was leaving her mother and didn't know where she began and where her mother ended.

Shields added that it didn't mean that she didn't know how to fit her boyfriend Cain in.
