Sourav Ganguly, member of the three-man Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which is overseeing the interview process of India's head coach, on Monday said the Committee has decided to "hold on" the interview process for some time and said that they would meet skipper Virat Kolhi to ensure that everyone is on the same page before the announcement is made.
"What we have decided is that we will hold on, for the time being, the announcement of the coach. We need few more days and talk to few more people especially the captain and then make the announcement because we feel there is no hurry at the moment," Ganguly said.
The former Indian skipper further said that M.V. Sridhar would continue to supervise the team management, who was appointed ahead of the West Indies tour.
Further elaborating the decision, Ganguly said that he, along with Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman, would speak with Kohli, who is in the United States, to explain about how each coach functions differently.
"We will explain to him that the coaches want to function in a certain way and make sure that everybody is on the same page before we make the announcement," he added.
In total, five candidates were interviewed to head for the post of India's head coach. Virendra Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus, Ravi Shastri and Tom Moody were interviewed by the CAC.
The CAC comprises of Ganguly, Tendulkar and Laxman.
