Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is calm about Chelsea's pursuit of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney while the Blues are confident they would be able to land Rooney before deadline day, despite the Old Trafford giants rejecting an opening 20 million pounds offer.
According to the Mirror, Mourinho said there was no need for Chelsea to panic over their prime target after watching his side finish the Asian leg of their pre-season campaign with a one-sided romp.
The report said that Chelsea are playing a waiting game before tabling a second bid which will be around 24 million pounds and speaking directly about Rooney for the first time in a week with Mourinho saying that at the moment they had just made the bid which was public and official.
Mourinho also said that the Stamford Bridge club was calm because they were happy with what they had.
