The much-anticipated BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) nominations for 2016 are finally out where 'Carol' and 'Bridge of Spies' have bagged nine nominations apiece.
In the Best Actor Male category, 2015 Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne has bagged the BAFTA nod for the second time for his role in 'The Danish Girl', Contactmusic reports.
The '34-year-old' actor will compete against Leonardo DiCaprio, who has been nominated for 'The Revenant' and Matt Damon for 'The Martian' and Michael Fassbender for 'Steve Jobs'.
'Mad Max: Fury Road' has received seven nominations, while Ridley Scott's 'The Martian' and British film Brooklyn booked six.
Also included in the Best Actress stakes are Maggie Smith for 'The Lady in the Van', Cate Blanchett for 'Carol' and Saoirse Ronan for 'Brooklyn'.
The nods for Outstanding British Film for the 69th BAFTA edition includes '45 Years', 'Amy', 'Brooklyn', 'The Danish Girl', 'Ex Machina', and 'The Lobster'.
Eddie Redmayne had won the Best Actor BAFTA for 'The Theory of Everything' in 2015, whereas Julianne Moore had scooped the Best Actress award for her role in 'Still Alice'.
The awards will be presented on February 14 at the Royal Opera House, London.
