A case has been lodged against son of a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and his aide on charges of raping and murdering of a woman in the Rajpura area, of Uttar Pradesh.
Rajpura Police Station in-charge Kashmir Singh said that on Saturday, a body of a 30-year-old woman was recovered from near a sugar mill on Saturday, and it was suspected that she died in a road accident. However, the victim's mother alleged that she was raped by SP District Secretary Abdul Hamid's son, Tasleem, and his aide Bhure.
She alleged that when the condition of the victim deteriorated, they threw her near the sugar mill and fled.
A case has been lodged against the two, Singh said. Police said the situation would be clear only after a postmortem.
