Cate Blanchett's AACTA speech might have impressed all, but not to the creators of the award show as they edited her speech for the sake of viewers.
While giving her powerful championing female achievement speech, the 46-year-old actress, who was honored with Longford Lyell award at the ceremony in Sydney, said, "Oh I've become one of those ridiculous people who cries, it's just a f*cking award", as she wiped away her tears.
Keeping the viewers in mind, the speech of the 'Cinderella' actress was censored, with her F-bomb cut from the final edit, News.com.au reports.
Shortly after the speech was censored, the actress fans took to claiming her speech had been 'massacred'.
One user wrote, "@Channel7 very disappointed in your editing of Cate Blanchett's speech. Seriously? Our greatest actress & you massacre her speech #AACTAs."
Another tweeted, "#AACTAs @Channel7 YOU EDITED CATE BLANCHETT's SPEECH!!! HOW DARE YOU!."
Blanchett was honored for her immense contribution to Australian film industry.
