The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed cases against Aditya Birla group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Hindalco Industries Ltd. and former coal secretary P.C.Parekh for violating norms in alloting captive coal blocks between 1993 and 2010.
It was the 14th case filed in relation to the coal scam.
Teams of the CBI also conducted searches at six locations in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bhubaneshwar after filing the cases.
They said that all accused have been booked for criminal conspiracy.
The case relates to the allotment of the Talabira-II coalfield in Odisha to Hindalco Industries in 2005.
