The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) official from Satara in Maharashtra for allegedly accepting a bribe.
The top investigation agency detained a Social Security Officer of the ESIC for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant.
The complainant had alleged that the Social Security Officer demanded bribe of Rs.30,000 from him for not imposing penalty of Rs. 3 lakh on his firm under ESIC Rules.
Following the complaint, the CBI had laid a trap and the Social Security Officer was caught red handed along with another person, while accepting the bribe.
