Russia has claimed that the ceasefire in Syria's de-escalation zone of Idlib has been violated by terrorist outfits.

"Over the past day, terrorists mortared Darh Abu Assad (three times), Mamuhiyah (twice), Akch Bair, Ikko, Sandran, Beit Zivan and Kirmil, Latakia province, Braididj (twice), Tell Bazzam (twice), Tell Marak (twice), Zor Mahruka (twice), Zellakiyat, Kibriya, Mgair, al-Rasif and Achan, Hama province, and the area of science and research centre, the district of Sukkari in Aleppo city," Sputnik quoted Russia's Defence Ministry as saying on Sunday.

Furthermore, the statement also outlined that a Syrian serviceman had been killed due to a militant attack on Kirmil settlement.

The multi-sided armed conflict in Syria has been raging since 2011, with Russia, Turkey and Iran being the guarantors of the ceasefire regime. Earlier, the US had announced its decision to pull troops out from the region, with US President Donald Trump citing the defeat of ISIS as one of the main reasons.

His claim has since been refuted by numerous quarters, including senior Republican Senators like Lindsey Graham.
