Centre to hold states, UTs' meet on 'Smart Cities'

Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu will preside over a meeting of state and union territory urban development ministers here today to discuss the Centre's proposed 'Smart Cities' projects.

Principal Secretaries of states and union territories dealing with urban development will also be present.

An official release said that after the interaction with the representatives of states and union territories, the Smart Cities Project proposal will be firmed up and submitted for approval to the competent authorities.

Official sources said that round-the-clock power and water supply, wi-fi connectivity and telemedicine facilities will be some of the highlights of the project.
