Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahman struck half-centuries each as Bangladesh set a 265-run target for India in the second semi-finals of the ongoing Champions Trophy at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground here on Thursday.

Put in to bat first, Bangladesh had a very bad start, losing opener Soumya Sarkar off Bhuvneshwar Kumar's delivery in the very first over.

Iqbal and Rahim then steadied their side's innings as the duo not only contributed significant 70 and 61 runs respectively, but they also stitched a crucial 123-run partnership for the third wicket.

However, the Mashrafe Mortaza-led side failed to capitalise on the same and slumped to a middle-order collapse at the hands of Kedar Jadhav (2-22) and Ravindra Jadeja (1-48) despite being 159-2 at one stage of their innings.

After being reduced to 229-7 at one stage, Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed made sure that Bangladesh did not lose any more wickets in the last five overs. They, however, could manage to add 35 runs to post a 264 runs.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah finished with two wickets each.
