China and India pledged to have common aspiration for maintaining peace and stability in their border areas.
The pledge was made between senior officials of the two countries' foreign ministries during the fourth meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on China-India Border Affairs, held in Beijing.
According to the China Daily, India and China also reviewed recent developments in the border areas and expressed satisfaction with the overall situation.
The two countries reiterated that maintaining peace and stability in the border areas were in interests of both.
During the meeting, China and India committed to take concrete measures to jointly safeguard border peace and tranquility.
