Comparing the trade deficit of the United States with China, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said that the former was being raped by the latter.
"We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what they're doing," CNN quoted Trump as saying, referring to China's high number of exports relative to the U.S..
Trump made the remarks during his second rally in Fort Wayne, Indiana yesterday.
The New York billionaire has repeatedly accused Beijing of manipulating its currency in making exports more competitive on the global market. He also claimed that China was 'killing' the U.S. on trade.
It was first time in this campaign that Trump has used the term "rape" to refer to his views as China's dominance in trade with the U.S.
Before referring to China's relationship with the U.S., Trump said,"We're going to turn it around. And we have the cards, don't forget it. We're like the piggy bank that's being robbed. We have the cards. We have a lot of power with China."
He added that he was not angry with at China, but with the U.S. leaders whom he accused of being grossly incompetent.
He had in 2011 said that "China is raping this country" while touring a defense manufacturer in New Hampshire.
