Nepal's acting Chief Justice Sushila Karki has been re-recommended for the post of Chief Justice at the Supreme Court.
In a meeting of the Constitutional Council held today, members of the Council approved Karki's name for the post, reports The Himalayan Times.
Karki was earlier nominated for the post by the Council.
However, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who heads the Council, had decided to repeat the process to avoid any controversy likely to occur as Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar was not present in the meeting on April 10.
Speaker Gharti had reportedly expressed dissatisfaction over the nomination process as the Constitution requires 100 per cent attendance of CC members to take any decision.
