Chinese actor Wen Zhang's 'affair' confession breaks social media records

Chinese actor Wen Zhang has broken social media records by apologizing for having an affair to his wife Ma Yili on Weibo.

According to Weibo, Wen's apology received more than 2.5 million comments and 1 million shares in just 10 hours.

The 29-year-old actor confessed that he let down his wife Ma Yili and their children, and was willing to accept all the consequences as his mistake couldn't be forgiven.

He said that it would be difficult for him to make amends for all the harm that he's caused, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Wen further added that he was ready to make amends and this is what he would be doing for the rest of his life.

Zhang has been married to his actress wife for six years.

However, the current social media record is still held by American chat show host Ellen DeGeneres' selfie, which received 3.4 million comments on Twitter.
