Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, on Tuesday asserted that Chinese hardliners consider him to be a troublemaker, but added the general people in the country are very positive.
"Chinese hardliners consider me a troublemaker, but the general Chinese people are very positive," he told ANI.
"Since the last few years, every week some Chinese from mainland China come to see me. Whenever we meet, the Chinese Buddhists cry," he added.
The Tibetan spiritual leader's remark came as China expressed its dismay over his visit to India for a public event.
China earlier on Monday opposed Dalai Lama's visit at a Buddhist conference at Rajgir in Bihar.
The Dalai Lama inaugurated the three-day conference, which ended on March 19, along with Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma.
Earlier this month, China had objected to India permitting the Dalai Lama to visit Arunachal Pradesh.
