Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on Friday recused himself from hearing the plea filed by former Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar against a court order on an FIR filed against him.

The Delhi High Court had earlier asked the police to register an FIR against him in a nearly two-decade-old case related to fabrication of documents.

On March 25, Kumar had moved the apex court against the order that asked the police to register an FIR against him and others for allegedly fabricating documents in a case pertaining to the time he was posted as a joint director of CBI.

The case will be heard by the Supreme Court on Monday (April 1).
