Captain Michael Clarke has failed to secure a victory for his team again as Australia lost a four-day practice match against Pakistan A by 153 runs in Sharjah.
Clarke, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, made just 10 in the first innings before he was bowled by left-arm paceman Rahat Ali on the fourth day. However, not much can be read into the loss as the match was just a warm-up ahead of Wednesday's first Test against Pakistan in Dubai, reported News.com.au.
Australia was chasing 339 to win but was bowled out for 185 in its second innings as paceman Mohammad Talha (3-32) and left-arm spinner Raza Hasan (3-60) ruined their plans for some useful practice.
Pakistan A had made 305-8 declared and 306-3 declared in its two innings. Australia had made 273-8 declared in its first knock.
The second Test is scheduled to start in Abu Dhabi from October 30.
