Bollywood playback singer Shankar Mahadevan recently visited Subhash Ghai's acting school Whistling Woods International in Mumbai for the second edition of their cultural workshop called 5th Veda.
Speaking on the occasion, the 48-year-old trained singer interacted with the students about music and said, "Composition is one level above musician's level. It is a position of mother. It's a position where you create something out of space."
Shankar continued that music composition is like cooking where one takes the raw ingredients of music, however, all the notes have to be in proportion and then create a beautiful melody.
The playback singer said that he could make or play music for more than 18 hours and still not get tired.
Shankar also elucidated on how one should aim for being good at their art and not just being successful in life.
