Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in touch with the concerned authorities in Kathmandu over the killing of a youth in police firing on the Indo-Nepal border.

Paswan asked the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar Government to protest against the killing of the youth.

Prime Minister Modi yesterday expressed his concern regarding the situation at the border during his telephonic conversation with Nepalese counterpart K.P. Oli.

"PM spoke to Nepal PM Shri KP Oli. He expressed concern on the incident & requested for details," said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in a tweet.

The PMO further posted: "PM has expressed shock & condemned the unfortunate killing of a youngster from Bihar due to police firing in Nepal."

A second-year BA student was killed and six others injured in firing by the Nepal Police during protests at the Indo-Nepal Border near Bihar's Raxaul town yesterday.
