Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad on Saturday ridiculed Punjab chief minister's proposal of naming Arun Jaitely as the future deputy prime minister of the country.
"It is quite laughable to propose Arun Jaitley for the post of deputy prime minister. Therefore, it is a comment made by a leader who is already afraid. With the announcement of Captain Amarinder Singh becoming the candidate from Amritsar, one thing is for sure that Jaitley is sure to lose the polls. It is only a ploy to misdirect the people of Amritsar because as there is a strong anti-incumbency wave in the state against the ruling government," Ahmad said.
On Friday the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal introduced Arun Jaitley as a future deputy prime minister to people of the border district of Attari during the BJP leader 's first public rally here, in what can potentially raise many hackles within the BJP.
