Congress leader K. K. Mishra on Monday asked Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to order a probe in the multi-crore Vyapam Scam and also alleged the involvement of a powerful person in this case.
"It is my direct allegation that without some big shot, such a large scale scam cannot take place. If the honourable chief minister is agaitated because of it, then I would politely request him to allow a transparent probe," Mishra told ANI.
He added. "At least 139 calls went from CM's home, those call details must be made public. If there is no truth in my allegations then jailed ex-minister Laxmikant Sharma should undergo narco test, he will reveal names of people recommended by Chief Minister's wife."
Mishra dared Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to file defamation case against him.
"Chief minister can file as many defamation cases against me as he wants, will fully reveal his wife's role soon and others from his family. such defamation case cannot stop my voice of speaking the truth. There is no rule of law here, it is only his writ which is running and seems to be above law," he said.
"If he has zero tolerance towards corruption, then under whose supervision has such multi-crore scam took place,' he added.
The recruitment scam had reportedly involved manipulation in the selection process for government jobs conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).
A Special Task Force has been constituted for an investigation into the Vyapam scam which had detained Laxmikant Sharma, a former state technical education minister, for interrogation.
Even as the high profile teacher's recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh is being linked to Chief Minister Chouhan's wife, Sadhna Singh, the Congress has dragged Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti's name into it.
