The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the issue of fund raising, accusing the latter of deflecting from primary issues.
"The AAP rather than trying to deflect the matter must come clean and tell the people of Delhi whose money is it. Where did it come from?" Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI here.
Meanwhile, Congress leader P.C. Chacko said there was no need for AAP to file any complaint against others and that it should come clean first.
"There is a shady transaction in accounts of the Aam Aadmi Party. Let them come clean, they needn't file complaint against others," he said.
Earlier, the AAP had demanded a Supreme Court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the funding of all three major parties contesting the Delhi polls.
"We demand that an SIT be formed under the direction of the SC and that the SIT should investigate funding of all three parties," said party leader Yogendra Yadav.
BJP leader Nalin Kohli retaliated by saying, "They are just trying to find a means to somehow wipe out the tint or confuse the tint of converting black money into white money which is seriously against them."
"The AAP is a party that stands fully exposed. They are a party that was actively converting black money into white and they have no answers to give," Kohli added.
On Monday, an activist group calling themselves AVAM (AAP Volunteer Action Manch), alleged that last year AAP had received four installments of Rs. 50 lakhs each from four bogus companies that were in fact fronts for money-laundering.
