Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday said that the expulsion of Amit Jogi from the Congress Party over alleged poll rigging is a result of grand old party's internal tussle.

"The Congress is dealing with its internal tussle in this way, and it's totally fine. I don't want to comment on the actions taken by them. They have their own issues, but the BJP has already made its stand clear. Neither the organisation nor the government has got anything to do with this incident," Singh told ANI.

Refuting the demand of his resignation by the Opposition, Singh said that it was a non-issue.

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) had earlier expelled Marwahi MLA Amit Jogi for six years, and passed a resolution seeking similar action against his father former chief minister Ajit Jogi.

The expulsion came in the wake of revelations about his alleged role in fixing the Antagarh by-election in 2014.

The decision was taken during a meet of the Congress state unit that also approved a proposal to suspend his father.

The Congress has also demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Raman Singh and a probe into the issue by a Supreme Court judge.
