Rejecting the All India United Democratic Front's (AIUDF) demand of 53 seats, the Congress Party on Sunday said it would go it alone in the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
Vice-President of Assam Congress Ripun Bora told some TV channels that the Congress would fight alone in the upcoming polls.
AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal on Saturday claimed that 53 seats from the ruling Congress for any understanding or alliance.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has already called for an understanding among various parties to defeat the BJP in assembly polls to be held next year.
