Lambasting the Congress Party for its criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Pakistan visit, Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh on Saturday said "they find it difficult to digest welcome steps taken by the Prime Minister, and his soaring image as a world leader".

"The entire world appreciated Prime Minister Modi's Pakistan visit, but there are people in our country, who are unable to digest that the Modi Government is taking decisive and revolutionary steps one after another," said Singh.

"The Congress and some other parties used to criticise the Prime Minister when there was no talks with Pakistan; now, when the process for a comprehensive dialogue has been set into motion, they are saying why this is happening," he said.

"When our NSAs of both countries held talks in Thailand, they said why in the third country? Now, when the talks are taking place in Pakistan, they are saying why there," said Singh, adding that any progressive person or nation would appreciate the step taken by the Prime Minister.

When asked that how Jammu and Kashmir would be benefitted by the development, Singh said J&K was the worst sufferer of the cross border terrorism, and a way forward in the India-Pak relations would definitely benefit the state.
