Alleging that the Congress is unable to digest underworld don Chhota Rajan's arrest, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday asked the grand old party to appreciate the work done by the NDA Government.

"The opposition, particularly the Congress and their leaders, are unable to digest the arrest of Chhota Rajan because he is an important arrest. He is an important asset, which can lead to many things regarding Dawood Ibrahim and other underworld activities," BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI.

"The person, who has been arrested, has already commented that he has been arrested and that he has not surrendered. I think this closes the chapter. And the Congress must learn to appreciate the good work that the government is doing," he added.

Highlighting the comments made by the Congress leaders, Singh alleged that the opposition was hell bent on spreading falsehood regarding the underworld don's arrest.

"Instead of praising the government, the Congress is raising questions and creating a falsehood that 'he has surrendered, there is a deal with the government and so the government must come out with the deal, must tell the truth'," he said.

The Congress had earlier asked the government to come clean on the issue.

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh had yesterday said he got the impression that Rajan was arrested as part of a deal of apprehending fugitive gang-lord and 1993 Mumbai serial blasts prime accused Dawood Ibrahim.

Rajan, one of India's most wanted criminals and a leading figure in the Mumbai underworld, was arrested at Bali in Indonesia on Sunday. Rajan is wanted for at least 68 cases in Mumbai alone, including over 20 murder cases and other serious offences under MCOCA, POTA and the Arms Act.
