England captain Alastair Cook is not worried about criticism of his captaincy and said that he is proud to continue leading the squad.

Cook, who endured a tough winter as England lost 5-0 in Australia, said that he does not feel as though he is on trial ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Lord's, adding that he is concentrating on doing the job the best he can.

According to the BBC, Cook said that if people want to criticise, they criticise, adding that criticism was the nature of the beast of being a professional sportsman.

The skipper said that he is very privileged to be England captain and loves doing it but if it no longer happens then that is the way it is.

However, Cook added that he would be very proud to stay England captain as he loves doing it and all he tries and do every day is his best.
