CPI for July rises to 2.36 percent amid rise in vegetable prices

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) on Monday came in at 2.36 percent for the month of July, as against a market estimate of around two percent.
As per the CPI numbers, the food price inflation came in at - 0.29 percent, higher than - 1.17 percent in June amid vegetable prices witnessing sharp spike.
The core inflation, which had fallen continuously for the last four months, stood at 3.9 percent, up from 3.8 percent a month ago.
However, the June CPI inflation rate was revised to 1.46 percent from 1.54 percent earlier.
