New Delhi, Nov. 4 (ANI): Environmental degradation, which is affecting the quality of life, has become a major concern in recent years.

However, a researcher, in a novel way, is creating awareness among people about environment and how to maintain sustainability through music.

'Ajnabee' the music track composed by Mr. Anandajit Goswami highlights and attempts to create awareness impacting the social domain of sustainability.

Anandajit Goswami is an economist and currently, he is associated as a Fellow with the Green Growth and Development Division of TERI.

He has been working with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) since 2004 and has led research projects pertaining to trade and sustainable development, economic modelling supported by ICTSD (International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development), UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development).

Michael Jackson in the Earth Song had communicated about the urgent need to refurbish the plundered earth by the human civilization.

In today's context and in future this need will become more and more important. Therefore, this musical journey of music and sustainability will become more crucial in future to mobilise and influence more people to be aware of simple issues which are going to affect general peoples' lives and will also impinge upon sustainability.

"As an immediate milestone, in the recent past, I have released my new music video composition on the issue of "Music and Sustainability" in Youtube. The name of the composition is "Ajnabee" and I hope someday all of many such unreleased compositions will come up as a part of the music and sustainability journey as we cross more stations and milestones" said Mr. Goswami.

In 2007 - 2009, Anandajit composed songs on role of renewable energy for addressing future sustainability issues. He had also initiated some steps to start music collaboration with UN Choir in New York.
