Cricket fraternity pays tribute to ex-England bowler Frank Tyson

The cricketing world has united in paying their condolences over the demise of former England fast bowler Frank Tyson, who passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday.

Tyson's former county Northamptonshire confirmed his death, saying that they offer sincere condolences to Frank's family and friends at this sad time.

Expressing his grief, Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said that Tyson will always be remembered as a great of England cricket, adding that he displayed a brilliant bowling action, Sport24 reported.

Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle also wrote on Twitter, "In his prime, Frank Tyson bowled at a pace comparable to the fastest of all time. Then became a genial looking headmaster."

Meanwhile former- Australian batsman Dean Jones said that he felt sad to hear about Tyson's death, adding that he was a terrific cricketer.

Former England cricketer Jonathan Agnew also paid tribute to Tyson, he tweeted, "So sorry to hear of Frank Tyson's death. Lived with him and family briefly as a young fast bowler when he was coach of Victoria. Lovely man,"

Tyson made his Test debut against Pakistan in 1954 at The Oval.

Tyson also took 28 wickets during Ashes series against Australia in 1954 to help his side claim 3-1 win.

His terrifying spell in the second innings of the Melbourne Test is still considered as being one of the quickest to be bowled in Test cricket history.

He retired at the age of 30 after appearing in 17 Tests and claiming 76 wickets at an average of 18.56.
