The cricket world has taken to Twitter in reaction to Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar's announcement on Thursday that he was retiring from all forms of cricket after he would cross the milestone of playing his 200th Test against West Indies next month.

According to Sport24, Sanjay Manjrekar, former India and Mumbai teammate said that he was privileged to have seen a child prodigy go on to become a true legend of the game from very close quarters and wished him all the best.

Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir saluted the master blaster and said that the Indian jersey No. 10 should retire as well and be preserved forever.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan said that it would be unbearable to see cricket without Sachin.

Proteas Test captain Graeme Smith said that Sachin had always performed under an extreme amount of pressure and never had any scandals, which was a credit on him and his family.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan said that one of the greatest ever was retiring.

Kevin Pietersen called Sachin Tendulkar the undisputed champion of cricket.

Damien Fleming said that Sachin was the best batsman he ever bowled to, at this peak and there was no weakness.

Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody said that it had been a privilege to play and coach against the little master.
