Condemning today's telecast of RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat on Doordarshan, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja said here on Wednesday that the telecast is a clear departure from the stated position of the government and from the practice so far public sector telecasting and broadcasting followed.
Raja said, "It is a clear departure from the stated position of the government and from the practice so far public sector telecasting and broadcasting followed. Now, the Doordarshan has become a mouthpiece of RSS which is not in the interest of the secular democracy which we all climb in our country."
"Not only a speech has been telecast live, there is a whole lot of debate over it. IMB ministry owns an explanation to the nation on how this happened and who has taken such a decision to allow RSS to use Doordarshan as their instrument," he added.
Public broadcaster Doordarshan (DD) today telecasted the annual Vijaya Dashmi address of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat from Nagpur.
The Vijaya Dashmi event has been the time of an annual event in which the RSS leader lays down the Sangh's vision, analyses the situation in the country and mentions its expectations from the government, since the founding of the organisation in 1925.
