The Dalit activists today staged a protest march against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Sangh Parivar against the attack on a Dalit family by the Bajrang Dal activists over suspicion of cattle theft and cow slaughter in Kondur village of Karnataka's Chikmagalur district.
The agitators also demanded a ban on 'anti-Dalit' Sangh Parivar outfits.
The police had registered a case of illegal cow slaughter against a Dalit family following a complaint by the Bajrang Dal and arrested Dhanush, Muthappa and Sandeep.
The following day, Muthappa's family filed a counter-complaint, accusing the right wing group of raiding her house and attacking them.
The police then lodged a case against seven people - Annu, Sampath, Santosh, Manjushree, Rajesh, Sundaresh, and Sandeep.
As per reports, all seven are Bajrang Dal members.
